How the city is organized
The City Council is the city's legislative and policy-making body. It is made up of the Mayor and four Council members, each elected to represent one of the city's four districts. The Council adopts the annual budget, sets tax rates, passes ordinances, and approves major contracts.
Day-to-day operations are led by an appointed City Manager, who oversees all departments and carries out the policies the Council sets. Regular Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and are open to the public.
