The Mayor and four Council members are elected by district to set city policy, adopt the budget, and represent residents.

Eleanor Coleman
Mayor
Mayor Eleanor Coleman was elected in 2023 after serving eight years on the City Council. As mayor she presides over Council meetings and represents the city on the Cherokee County regional planning board. Her priorities include downtown revitalization, the Little River Greenway expansion, and modernizing city services.

David Reyes
City Manager
City Manager David Reyes is the city's chief administrative officer, appointed by the Council. He oversees daily operations, the annual budget, and all city departments, and carries out the policies set by the Mayor and Council.

Gloria Hale
Council Member · District 1
Council Member Gloria Hale represents District 1, covering the historic downtown and the Depot Street corridor. She chairs the Council's Finance & Budget committee.

Samuel Osei
Council Member · District 2
Council Member Samuel Osei represents District 2, including the Mill Pond and Riverside neighborhoods. He serves on the Parks & Public Safety committee.

Karen Whitfield
Council Member · District 3
Council Member Karen Whitfield represents District 3 on the city's north side. She chairs the Public Works & Infrastructure committee and serves as Mayor Pro Tem.

Council Member · District 4
Council Member Anthony Tran represents District 4, covering the west side and the Ashford Commons business district. He serves on the Economic Development committee.
